The Canadian Jewellers Association (CJA) has announced the recipients of its 2025 CJA Awards, presented at a dinner event at The Omni King Edward Hotel in Toronto, sponsored by De Beers Group.
Now in its third year, the awards ceremony brought together finalists from across the country, with recognition across several retail and supply categories.

Awards were presented in multiple categories reflecting different areas of the trade. J.H. Young & Sons Ltd. of Brantford, Ontario received the 2025 Independent Retailer of the Year Award. Appelt’s Diamonds, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, was named Multi-Store Retailer of the Year.
MDL Diamond Merchants of Toronto was recognised as Supplier of the Year, while Northern Watch Services Inc., based in North York, Ontario, received the Emerging Business of the Year Award.
Recognition for Industry Impact
The Erol Paylan Impact Award was presented to Sarah Dougall of Made You Look Jewellery in Toronto, recognising her contributions to supporting independent designers and fostering a collaborative platform. In her acceptance, Dougall said, “Thank you to the CJA for recognizing my work and shining the light on a Queen Street West punk-indie brand. It has been my life’s work to develop and refine this platform, which endeavors to allow our community of exceptional talent to follow their dreams, find their niche, and be recognized for their unique perspectives in this ancient medium. Jewellery has been a part of human history since the beginning of time; its story is ever evolving, and so is ours.”
