Toronto Police are seeking an unidentified man suspected of stealing a watch worth $43,000 from a jewellery store in downtown Toronto. The incident occurred on July 24 at approximately 5:20 p.m. in the area of Bay and Bloor Streets.
Details of the Theft
According to Constable Ashley Visser, the suspect entered the store and requested to try on a watch. “A man walked into a jewellery store (and) he requested to try on a watch,” Visser stated in a release. The man then fled the premises without paying for the item.
Suspect Description and Appeal for Information
Investigators have identified a suspect and released a security camera image in hopes that the public can assist in identifying him. The man is described as being between 20 to 25 years old, approximately 5-foot-8, and weighing around 160 pounds. He has short black hair and was wearing glasses, a light-coloured jacket, black shorts, white socks, black shoes, and was carrying a black backpack at the time of the incident.
